Dr. Gwen Falony
Dr. Gwen Falony is Associate Professor of Host–Microbe Interactomics at Wageningen University & Research. His research explores interactions between the composition and metabolic activity of the gut microbiota and the human host. The ultimate goal of his work as a microbiome scientist is to promote human health, well-being, and performance through the modulation of the gut microbial ecosystem—by means of dietary interventions (including the use of pre- and probiotics), drug repurposing or development, or bacteriotherapy. To achieve this goal, he translates ecological insights in gut microbiota dynamics into novel modulation strategies for health applications.
