MD. Tessa Veen-Backhuijs

Tessa Backhuijs is a sports physician since 2015. From 2015 to 2023, she served on the VSG Medical Ethics Committee, where she developed expertise in facilitating Socratic dialogues on ethically complex medical topics. At last year’s Doping Authority congress, she led a workshop on the clinical and ethical dilemmas clinicians face when — often unknowingly — treating athletes who use banned substances.
