Dr. Stavros Avgerinos

Stavros Avgerinos is a dentist with a special focus on sports dental medicine. He is the founding president of the German Society for Sports Dentistry, Vice President of the European Association for Sports Dentistry, Vice President of the Austrian Society for Sports Dentistry and Medicine, and Chief Strategic Officer of SBMC – Swiss Biological Medicine Center. His professional work is dedicated to integrating oral health into sports medicine, with a particular focus on the prevention and management of dental and orofacial trauma, custom-made sports mouthguards, oral-systemic health, and the role of dentistry in athlete performance and return-to-play concepts. In his clinical, academic and strategic activities, Stavros Avgerinos works at the interface between dentistry, sports medicine and interdisciplinary athlete care. He is actively involved in education, guideline development and international collaboration to raise awareness that oral health, dental trauma prevention and functional oral medicine are relevant components of modern sports medical care.
